More detail on the program:

Roadblocks to Low Impact Development

In 2008, the Center for Watershed Protection surveyed 73 communities to better understand how these communities practice watershed planning, and to identify barriers to implementing LID and other comprehensive watershed planning efforts. And while many communities did express the physical characteristics of their geography as barriers to implementation, the greater stumbling blocks were those common throughout the United States: a lack of good local examples and local codes that restrict innovative development practices. This workshop will help us identify  local codes and policies that restrict low impact development practices and identify alternatives that have been implemented in other communities.
